Lawyer for the family of Tamara Greene says he believes missing emails should amount to sanctions
DETROIT, Mich (wyxz) – Lawyer Norman Yatooma says he believes the children of murdered dancer Tamara Greene who filed the lawsuit against the city and former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick should win the case by default because emails Yatooma has asked for have been destroyed. He is filing a brief on the matter.
The suit alleges the city sabotaged the investigation into Greene’s drive-by shooting death in 2003. That was about 6 months after she allegedly danced at the never-proven party at the Manoogian Mansion.
The Lawyer representing Kilpatrick in this case, Jim Thomas says a default or other sanctions are not appropriate because Yatooma requested the emails after Kilpatrick left office and not in a timely manner. It will be up to the judge to decide.
The case is scheduled to go to trial in January.
