Wayne County news: Kilpatricks to give depositions
Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, his wife and his father will be deposed in a lawsuit filed by the family of a slain stripper said to have danced at a never-proved party at the Manoogian Mansion, a federal judge said Monday.
Chief U.S. District Judge Gerald Rosen didn’t say when Kilpatrick would be deposed, but it will happen at whatever state or federal prison Kilpatrick is in on the day the deposition is to be held. His wife, Carlita, and father, Bernard, will be deposed Aug. 5-6, Rosen said.
Rosen said Kwame Kilpatrick’s deposition would be sealed.
The family of Tamara Greene is suing Kilpatrick and the city, claiming they derailed an investigation into her death, preventing them from filing a lawsuit against her killers. Greene was killed in a drive-by shooting in April 2003.
Kwame Kilpatrick was been moved from the Oaks Correctional Facility near Manistee to the Federal Corrections Institution in Milan, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
