Former Members of Beaver Creek Golf Course in Oakland Twp MI, are awarded 6.8 Million for lost time on the links

Myth Banquets (formerly known as Beaver Creek) is off of Stoney Creek road, that runs West off of Rochester road between Buell and 32 Mile in Oakland Twp., Michigan. The courses past owner, GTR Beaver Creek, had been in litigation with over 300 golf members regarding lifetime memberships for Beaver Creek golf links for years. The course was neglected and was about to be turned into a real estate development. Members were turned away for golf and began a lawsuit with GTR Beaver Creek.

The course was neglected and not far from shutting down completely in 2006. The members were awarded 6.8 million dollars this year in court. The business is now known as The Myth Golf and banquets and is owned and operated by Vargo Golf Company. Robert Vargo is the 15 year owner and operator of Bruce Hills Golf Club in Romeo and owner of The Myth. Litigation between GTR Beavercreek and former golf members of Beavercreek golf links has no association with Robert Vargo, The Myth Golf and Banquets, or Vargo Golf Company.

In late 2007, Robert Vargo bought the neglected 18 Hole and Par 3 course named Beaver Creek in Oakland Michigan and began to bring it back from the dead. Grass was burning with the lack of a functional irrigation system, the multiple bridges were in severe disrepair, and the golf carts were barely running. Vargo brought in his management team and began the process of clean up and repair. In spring of 2008, he renamed it Myth Golf and Banquets and customers began to see the promise of a great course. Now in 2010, the course has been improved from tee to green and is getting great reviews.

Myth Golf and Banquets features a formal knotty pine banquet hall that can host up to 225 seated guests and is perfect for Weddings, conferences and presentations. With the growing reputation of exceptional customer service and great pricing the Myth continues to book weddings and receptions as well as golf outings and fundraisers. Eisenhower High school class of 1980 located in Washington Twp., Mi. chose the Myth location for their 30 year reunion to be held this year July 31st. The banquet hall was selected because of its unique setting and elegant room.

Myth also features a separate par 3 course named the Little Myth. Par 3 green fees are only $8 seven days a week.

On June 21st Myth will begin the Junior summer camp on the par 3 course. Kids will golf with instruction from 11a.m. to 2p.m. Children ages 7 to 13 years old are invited to sign up. Classes include lunch and golf shoes.
